Kalunga Mubanga Chalungumana

Provincial Team Lead

StrongMinds Zambia

Kalunga Mubanga Chalungumana serves as the Provincial Team Lead at StrongMinds Zambia, providing accessible and compassionate depression treatment tailored to the unique needs of individuals. Through her work, she builds strong connections with communities based on trust, empathy, and cultural sensitivity, empowering individuals to reclaim their well-being and supporting healing in meaningful ways.

Kalunga is particularly proud of her volunteer work as a psychologist with Mulenga Autism Foundation, where she started an internship program to train new psychology graduates. As a student, she also led a fundraiser for a GBV safe house in Mansa, organizing paid training sessions that raised over 18,000 kwacha. Both experiences strengthened her commitment to building capacity and directly supporting vulnerable communities.

In her current role, Kalunga established Environmental Health Technologists within the supervision structure for volunteers in the StrongMinds depression treatment program, enhancing implementation and oversight to improve outcomes.

Kalunga is deeply committed to health equity and social justice, striving to remove barriers and ensure underserved communities receive compassionate, accessible care. She draws inspiration from the belief that “a great leader doesn’t just capitalize on their team’s strengths but also understands and supports their weaknesses to help everyone grow,” approaching leadership with empathy, empowerment, and a focus on collective growth.
