Max Bahi

Community Engagement Liaison

Crossroads Rhode Island

Max Bahi calls Providence, Rhode Island home where he serves as Community Engagement Liaison at Crossroads Rhode Island. Max’s work is deeply connected to communities facing systemic barriers to housing, healthcare, and stability. He believes in building trust through consistent outreach, respectful communication, and advocating for services that truly meet the needs of individuals and families. This approach helps bridge institutions with the people they serve.

Alongside his role at Crossroads Rhode Island, Max has dedicated time over the past two years volunteering with RICARES, a nonprofit focused on supporting vulnerable populations in Rhode Island.

In his current position, Max is particularly energized by coordinating the “A Bed for Every Child” initiative, which provides essential furnishings to families transitioning out of homelessness. He also supports efforts to enhance community-based services that promote long-term stability.

Max’s commitment to equity begins with listening. He strives to advance policies and practices that expand access, uphold dignity, and reflect the lived experiences of the communities served.

For Max, leadership means embracing complexity and fostering honest dialogue. He draws inspiration from José Saramago’s words: “Chaos is merely ordering waiting to be deciphered,” and John A. Powell’s call to action: “We must be willing to have uncomfortable conversations in order to promote understanding and change.”
