June 23, 2013 – GHC visiting Village Health Works in Kigutu, Bururi, Burundi. We were given the rare opportunity to tour the medical facilities, husbandry site, and community gardens that make up VHW. Along with the primary school children enrolled in the United States Embassy’s English Access Program, we made friendship bracelets and taught them about future career goals that are open to them. After an adventure hiking to the local hot springs two mountains away and sharing a meal with the local VHW staff, we enjoyed each other’s company breathing the fresh air with life-long friends.
