Role Overview

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Fellow will support the M&E department, through data and database management, dashboard generation, and creation of technical reports. The Fellow will be part of the Baylor-Tingathe M&E team, and will work closely with the M&E Officers of the team as well as the program team colleagues. The Fellow will contribute to the overall mission of Baylor-Tingathe, which is to provide high-quality, high-impact, highly ethical pediatric and family-centered health.


  • Support database development and management
  • Assist with the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools/activities, including data collection, logical framework, data flow chart, M&E manuals, etc.
  • Support defining and implementing the key project performance indicators (KPI) as well as developing monitoring plans and systems
  • Assist with data management, analysis, and presentation
  • Assist in the deployment of a program application
  • Create quarterly M&E review presentations
  • Support the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process and writing success stories

Skills and Experience

Items indicated with an asterisk (*) are required
  • At least two years of experience with M&E activities, such as defining goals or performance indicators, data collection, and/or developing M&E plans*
  • Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis*
  • Strong writing skills with experience producing reports, best practices, impact stories, or other similar documents*
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel*
  • Certificate or master’s degree in M&E, statistics, demographics, international development, or related field
  • Experience with database design and/or management
  • Experience in developing and managing data collection tools, such as surveys
  • Prior experience with PEPFAR reporting
  • Strong knowledge of the HIV/AIDs program in Malawi
  • Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail

Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Malawi (BCMCF-M) is a not-for- profit organization working in partnership with the Malawi government in the health sector. Our Mission is to provide high-quality, high-impact, highly ethical pediatric and family-centered health care as well as health professional training and clinical research, focused on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, malnutrition, and other conditions impacting the health and well-being of children and families worldwide.
Tingathe is a program initiated by Baylor College of Medicine Children's Foundation-Malawi in partnership with the Malawi Ministry of Health in 2008. Tingathe ("together we can") is committed to helping children and families live healthy, fulfilled lives by providing high quality healthcare and empowering health professionals and communities in southern Africa.
The project is currently implementing the Client-Oriented Response for HIV Epidemic Control (CORE) Activity. The current project seeks to support Malawi in achieving epidemic control, by providing client-focused care to people living with HIV from the time of diagnosis to linkage and full engagement in care. BCMCF-M’s CORE programming is funded by USAID and is currently operating in six districts in Malawi.
