Last month, Global Health Corps’ 2024-2025 Africa Leadership Accelerator fellows closed out an incredible nine‑month journey with vibrant convenings in Uganda and Zambia! Across sexual and reproductive health (SRH), community health, planetary health, and more, these 30 changemakers have strengthened their impact in the communities they serve, honed their leadership, and forged lifelong bonds.
In Mbarara, Uganda, our Ugandan and Rwandan fellows gathered for final presentations of their stretch projects—ranging from AI‑driven monitoring tools to community‑led adolescent empowerment initiatives. Over in Lusaka, Zambia, Malawian and Zambian fellows reflected on their growth, shared stories of resilience, and set bold new goals.
“It has been everything I expected and so much more,” said Fosca Tumushabe, Communications Coordinator at Population Services International Uganda. “I have tested myself in several ways and now know I can take on anything.”
And Joshua Ndahiro, Legal Fellow at Geruka Healing Centre, captured the fellowship’s transformational power: “This journey tested and transformed me—expanding my understanding of leadership, justice, and what it truly means to serve.”
Beyond presentations, fellows rounded out immersive leadership workshops, joined GHC’s regional alumni convening to discuss the shifting landscape of global health funding, and were officially welcomed into our global alumni community of 1,300+ leaders.
From program management to monitoring & evaluation, from grassroots organizing to executive coaching, this cohort has shown what’s possible when dedicated leaders are given the tools, networks, and space to grow. Their time as fellows may have ended but their impact is only beginning.
Welcome to the GHC alumni community, fellows—here’s to what comes next!
