Kei was born in Lima, Peru. She lived in Japan for 6 years and moved to the United States when she was 15 years old. She completed her undergraduate studies at UCLA., majoring in Microbiology. During her time at UCLA, she fell in love with the field of Public Health and completed her master's in Global Public Health this year at George Washington University. Currently, she is working for PAHO (Pan-American Health Organization) as a consultant conducting a research project on TB-MDR and its social determinants in Peru. She has also participated in women's health projects in Kenya and Brazil. She intends on continuing her education with a doctorate degree in Health Economics. Kei has been practicing yoga for 8 years, enjoys dancing to Latin beats, and has been a strong advocate for ending violence against women and girls through participation in The Vagina Monologues for over 7 years.
