This application preview is for the 2024-2025 Africa fellowship which will begin in July 2024 and end in July 2025. Note that the actual online application may differ slightly from this preview. Please refer to the Apply for the Africa Fellowship page for detailed information about the fellowship program. Your full application will be visible to both the GHC reviewers and the placement organization(s) to which you apply. All responses must be written in English.
You should be prepared to verify upon request that all information you provide in your application is true and your original work.
Personal Information
Please upload a copy of your passport verifying your citizenship. If you are a citizen of more than one country or are a legal permanent resident, please combine each passport copy or legal permanent residency document into one document to upload. If you do not have a passport, please upload another document that proves your citizenship (for example, a birth certificate or national identity card). Please make sure your document is not expired.

Acceptable documents can include: a scan of your completed degree, a letter from your university, academic transcript (as long as it states your name, graduation date, and degree completed or expected by the start of the fellowship).

Personal Essays
Please write a brief essay in response to each of the following questions. We read your essays to get to know you as a person and to learn about the ideas and interests that motivate you. We want to hear your genuine voice throughout the essays; this is the time to think carefully about the values, passions, and experiences that have shaped you as an individual and why you would be a good fit for the Global Health Corps community.

Role Selection Essay(s)
You may apply for up to two fellowship roles but must apply for at least one. You will be evaluated for each role you select independently of your other role selections. Each essay will be reviewed by both the GHC team and the placement organization. As such, each essay should be tailored specifically to the role to which you are applying, like a cover letter; do NOT copy and paste an identical essay for each role.
Reference Information
The GHC Recommendation Form is a required part of the fellowship application. It is your responsibility to select a reference and ensure that the GHC Recommendation Form is completed on your behalf by the deadline. Please provide the following information about a current or past supervisor who will act as your reference. If you have never had a supervisor for any paid or volunteer work, you may use a teacher or professor who can speak to your work.
