Stephane Nyembo
Rwanda Program Manager

Prior to GHC, Stephane devoted a decade to supporting quality education for children in the most disadvantaged schools in Rwanda. He served as Country Representative of Chance for Childhood Rwanda, a UK-based nonprofit organization that supports children with disabilities. Prior to that, Stephane served as Country Manager of Miracle Corners Rwanda, a nonprofit organization affiliated with Miracle Corners of the World, an international organization striving to empower community through youth leadership development and skills development. He has also worked with Wellspring Foundation for Education, a nonprofit Christian organization that promotes quality education in schools by empowering teachers, school leaders, and the wider community. Stephane believes that hope is the most powerful thing every person needs, especially in these volatile and ambiguous times the world is facing. He joined GHC because he sees health equity as fundamental to broader social transformation.

Stephane initially dreamed about becoming a medical doctor, but he ended up pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. He also holds a Master of Arts degree in Journalism and Media Studies and a post-graduate diploma in Educational Leadership.

"Health equity can only be achieved through the collective efforts of great leaders who are willing to go through the inside-out journey of serving others instead of being served."
